Dr. Hiers was raised in the Orange Park/Green Cove Springs area in North Florida, but has been residing in Gainesville since 1997.  He received his BS and Masters degrees from the University of Florida, Department of Animal Sciences, specializing in reproductive herd management of beef cattle.  

Following graduation from the UF Veterinary School in 2007, he joined Dr. Ted Yoho with Kanapaha Veterinary Services and later purchased the company in 2010. He has been proudly serving the North-Central Florida area ever since. 

Eric is married to Dr. Allison Hiers, a small animal veterinarian, and is a proud parent of three children.  Outside of work Eric enjoys spending time with family, golfing, fishing, and working on his own farm.  Dr. Hiers enjoys being active in local FFA and 4-H chapters and has been on the Board for the Retirement Home for Horses at Mill Creek Farm in Alachua for over 10 years.
